At Bright Butler, we like to think we offer a better way of working. We create a team around the scope of each project, which means you only pay for the services you really need.
We’re proud to have built a core creative team – ‘the regulars’ – that we can turn to in an instant, combined with a wider network of brilliant freelancers that we know and trust. The result? We can quickly scale to deliver the expertise you need, whenever you need it.
When you work with us, we’ll assign a dedicated project manager as your main point of contact. They’ll take the time to get to know your business; to understand your challenges and identify those opportunities. They’ll ask about the requirements of the project and what you want to achieve. Then they’ll relay this to the wider team.
Next up, our hand-picked creative team will get to work, weaving their magic and putting their enviable skills to good use. They’ve been around long enough to know what will work and what won’t. And they’ll never waste time on things that won’t add real value for your business.
Your project manager, along with creative support where necessary, will present a variety of ideas to you. And once we’ve found an approach that excites you, we’ll crack on with getting the job done.
It’s a tried and tested collaborative approach that works for us. And crucially, it works brilliantly for our clients too. That’s how we’ve built longstanding relationships with so many of them over the years.

Meet the team
Sass brings a wealth of experience and energy to Bright Butler, having worked client and agency-side, she understands life on both sides of the fence and uses this knowledge to best effect.
Throughout her agency career, Sass has worked on many projects including challenging Direct Mail, TV, cinema, press, online, outdoor and events for clients including BAE Systems, AXA Sun Life Direct, Samsung, Toshiba, Hilton International Hotels, Historic Royal Palaces and The British Army. And while those big brands are impressive in themselves, they’re testament to her assured project management skills.
Well versed in all the issues that can crop up at the 11th hour, Sass is almost unfeasibly calm in a crisis and has a head for problem-solving, organising, and making projects run like clockwork. Whatever the project, you can rest assured it’ll be in a safe pair of hands.
Mike (or Big Mike to many) has been working in the design industry for over 12 years. During that time, he’s created everything from branding and literature to illustrations and web design for many top organisations including BMW, FrontierMEDEX, Hewlett Packard, the South West Regional Development Agency, Southampton Solent University and more.
Mike’s enthusiasm is infectious, and he uses his unique skills in design and illustration to discover that little nugget of inspiration that will create a piece of work that’s innovative, engaging and relevant. Plus, he’s a thoroughly lovely guy to have around.
Keen to tackle even the most challenging of briefs, and a fast learner, our junior designer Matt keeps us on our toes.
Having studied Graphic Design at Bath Spa university, and with several placements under his belt including projects for Santander, 3 Mobile, Akzo Nobel, Walkabout and Bristol Media, Matt has been part of the BB team for several years now.
His strengths include design for print, typography and above all, a calm and unflustered air even when there are multiple projects to juggle!
Having worked in the industry for over 25 years, Karen has worked on a fair few exciting projects in her time. From brilliant creative for the back of a bus to brochures that bring products and services to life. She even has a talent for making Microsoft templates that give clients a marketing edge – in fact it’s something of a speciality!
Karen’s clients include Orange, 3, Nationwide, Bristol Zoo, Timex and Kenco, to name but a few. So, phones, more phones, financial services, animals, watches and coffee… they say variety is the spice of life… and she’s lost none of her enthusiasm. Karen thrives on all things technical and her eagle eyes can spot a double space at twenty paces.
In her spare time, Karen loves nothing more than lining things up. Enough said really.
Ashley has spent the last 10 years freelancing across 3 disciplines; web development, animation and audio production. He has produced work for the likes of Virgin Media, John Lewis, Dolce & Gabbana, Audi, Sage and Houses of Parliament.
Being equally creative and logical, Ashley enjoys applying skills from across his skillset to meet the challenge of the brief.
